Wow, what a fortuitous draw for the US! Our first game against merry ol' England is sure to be an excitement - can anyone forget Rooney's impudent foul in our last World Cup and England's inglorious early exit (albeit to a strong Portugal)? A win here would certainly set the stage for an advancement out of group play.
Will the Stars and Stripes be able to upend either Algeria or Slovenia (despite our atrocious record against African and European teams)?
Will the US return to the heady days of the 2002 Japan-Korea World Cup? Time will tell, and I will be watching every match I can, although only on television.
Cheers
